Hello.

Is there a way to extract information about the userid that was the last one
to access a file?

Running Perl 5 on 'NIX.

I have heard that some OS'es (notably AIX) have an "accounting" daemon
which may be enabled and it will log such activity. I've never
actually seen or done it. But the file's inode (which is where the
various metadata is stored - creator, lastmod, etc) does not include a
field for last userid.
