OK, I know this seems like a strange place to ask about Greasemonkey
scripts, since this is not really pure Javascript, but what the heck...
(In case you don't know what I'm talking about: Greasemonkey (
http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/ ) is an extension to Firefox (
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ ) which lets users easily load small
scripts
that modify the behaviour of certain or all websites, like changing
mail
links to gmail's "compose" page.
Anyway, I created a small AJAX-like interface for Google Bookmarks and
so far I've run into two problems that I could really use some help
with:
1. How to get GreaseMonkey content into the sidebar... there are a
couple of options here, the most promising being converting the
GreaseMonkey script into a full-fledged extension... something I've
never done before... maybe somebody with experience could help me with
that.
2. How to actually ADD bookmarks???? The google code is a tangled web
of prototypes and objectoriented JS.... has anybody so far figured out
how to add your own bookmarks via a script.... I haven't yet given up
hope, but it really looks terribly complicated.
If you want to help me or are just curious:
1. You need GreaseMonkey installed
2. Install the script from http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/2321
3. Make sure that you actually have some bookmarks in
http://www.google.com/searchhistory/lookup?q=is:bookmarked
4. Vist http://www.google.com/bookmarks ...normally this would just
take you to a 404 error page, but the script modifies this page to show
you a small sidebar.like interface
I'd really appreciate some help... just send me a mail or post comments
on the userscripts page
