[ANN] - Journals 1.0.0

Download:
http://www.lithinos.com/journals/Install_Journals_1_0.exe

Documentation:
- It defaults to today, and uses ... I think Verdana as it's font.
- Navigate to the day where you want to add a journal entry, and type away.
- Don't forget to save!!!
- If you want to 'backup' your journal, there are 'output' options
for plain text, HTML, and XML. 'Course if you wanted, you could just
copy the SQLite db to some other place.
- Days with just task entries are green.
- Days with journal (and/or task) entries are blue.
- NO built-in bug submission... yet.

Description:
I've wanted to be a little better at keeping a journal of my life -
and I've always wanted some program to help me. 'Journals' is my
answer to that problem. With it's 'Hide and Remind' feature I can get
a reminder if I want one. It also is pretty sparse on the feature set,
since I just wanted to type something in and save it. Maybe later I'll
add support for saving images (scanned in articles, handwriting,
pictures) along with a journal entry.

It could, but you'd have to have SQLite and FOX and FXRuby installed,
and then extract the source from the executable... I think it'd work
then.

Any chance you could provide the source code as a separate package? It's
not a trivial task to extract the source code from the executable...

I guess it would be harder if you didn't have a windows os.

If you _did_ have some win32 os, then it would be trivial since you
could just install it from the download, and open the resulting EXE in
a text editor. If you search for 'require', you'll eventually find the
section with the code in plain text format (it's preceeded by a bunch
of junk - non-plain text).

So the EXE has the source code in plain text... but like I said in the
beginning, it'd be kinda hard to get at it if you didn't have access
to a windows box.

I wonder if there is a tool for *nix os that unpacks a NSIS generated
installer... there probably is, but I haven't looked around.

So. :) That said: would it be possible for you to distribute the source
code as a separate package? Or are you distributing this as a closed
source project? (If so, what are your reasons? Just curious--it is your
code, after all, and you have the right to decide what happens to it...)

Well... I've never distributed anything before. I guess I just like this way.

If you want I'd love to talk to you offline IRL about this...
