Hello everyone,
We're closing in on the release Komodo 3.5.1 for Windows, Linux and OS
X, and today have released some public beta builds for you to check
out prior to final release:
Windows:
ftp://ftp.activestate.com/Komodo/Windows/3.5/Komodo-Professional-3.5.1-beta1-220049.msi
Linux:
ftp://ftp.activestate.com/Komodo/Linux/3.5/Komodo-Professional-3.5.1-beta1-220038-linux-libcpp5-ix86.tar.gz
OS X:
ftp://ftp.activestate.com/Komodo/MacOSX/3.5/Komodo-Professional-3.5.1-beta1-220038-macosx-powerpc.dmg
Highlights:
- several fixes in Perl Code Folding, and numerous other fixes since
the 3.5.0 release on OS X.
- a Ruby interactive shell!
Known Issue:
There is a bug currently related to start-up where, if the user who
first runs Komodo does not have write permissions to the directory
Komodo is installed to, start-up will fail. This mostly affects Linux
users who install Komodo as root.
Workarounds:
- install as your own user to your home directory, or
- after installing, run Komodo at least once as root or via sudo
(you will get a license error, which is expected )
We expect this issue to be resolved for the final release.
