Hi All,
[I hope that message is not inappropriate]
Thanks to Dave's and Andy's Jan 2001 DDJ article, I started to use Ruby
to automate
daily tasks and a set of tools has been created.
If someone in India wants to have fun programming in Ruby and also
handle some infrastructure work, there is an opening in Gurgaon, near
New Delhi.
Below is the job description. Please feel free to contact me directly if
you are interested:
Senior associate enterprise application automation/scripting champion
and infrastructure lead
Lead, mentor and support a team of 30+ enterprise application
analysts/developers so that:
1. repeatable processes (read "build, release and testing ruthless
automation") are consistently used on a daily basis by everyone.
2. the enterprise application infrastructure development, test and
production environments (mainly Windows alongside some Solaris and
Linux systems) are in a consistent state and up to standards
(security, backups, networking, etc). The production environments
that support a worldwide community of 1800+ users is hosted in
the corporate headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts while the
development and test environments are in Gurgaon, India.
The automation part requires enthusiasm to apply strong scripting
skills and willingness to learn Ruby in order to maintain/create tools
to support and teach the team how to automate. The infrastructure role
ranges from working with the company IT infrastructure to define, set
the proper standards to implementing and leading the EA team to follow
them.
This job is highly visible with the company leadership since providing
a high level of service for the enterprise applications is critical to
the daily business operation.
