Any San Diego Rubyists?

For those of us traveling from out of town, are there any Rubyists in
San Diego who can provide some information about the area surrounding
the hotel for this year's Ruby Conference? Specifically, are there
restaurants and shopping within walking distance, or would one need to
rent a car?
