Atlassian and WANdisco Partner to Provide Cost Effective High
Availability and Scalability for JIRA
OEM Agreement Signed for JIRA Clustering and JIRA MultiSite
San Francisco, CA November 26, 2007 - Atlassian and WANdisco announced
today an OEM agreement for a new solution that offers high
availability and scalability of Atlassian JIRA. The partnership
underscores JIRA's capabilities as a platform for building new
products and capabilities.
The new solution, WANdisco's JIRA MultiSite and JIRA Clustering,
combines Atlassian JIRA, the professional issue tracker, with
WANdisco's 'active-active' replication capabilities. These
capabilities support clustering over a WAN or LAN, providing automated
system failover and self-healing disaster recovery that eliminates the
need for either administrator intervention or costly third party disk
mirroring solutions.
JIRA MultiSite and JIRA Clustering also give development teams and IT
organizations LAN-speed performance with 'always current' visibility
into individual issues and overall project status across all of their
work sites while eliminating the 'single point of failure' issue left
unaddressed by common application clustering solutions. As a result,
issues are submitted and addressed in a timely manner, rework of
coding and QA are minimized and code is properly safeguarded at all
times. All of this adds up to tremendous time and costs savings for IT
departments and software development teams.
"Atlassian JIRA is one of the most-respected and successful issue
trackers on the market today," said David Richards, President and CEO
of WANdisco. "When combined with WANdisco's technology, JIRA not only
becomes massively scalable and reliable, but provides the essential
components for a complete application lifecycle management solution
stack."
JIRA MultiSite and JIRA Clustering are sold exclusively by WANdisco
through an OEM arrangement with Atlassian. JIRA MultiSite and JIRA
Clustering can be implemented standalone or in conjunction with
WANdisco's solutions for Subversion and CVS.
"We're excited to have found a great partner in WANdisco for helping
our customers scale JIRA to the next level," said Mike Cannon-Brookes,
Atlassian CEO and co-founder. "We encourage this kind of creative
extension to JIRA's capabilities within different organizations."
