Now this is really BIG! Rarely can we find so many top guns of Sun
Microsystems converging at one place to address java experts. It’s all
going to happen at the upcoming Sun Microsystems conference named “Sun
Tech Days” to be held on February 18-20 at HICC, Hyderabad, India.
Of course, James Gosling, the Father of Java and currently vice-
president and Sun Fellow will be there. He did the original design of
the Java programming language and implemented its original compiler
and virtual machine. He has recently been a contributor to the Real-
Time Specification for Java.
Gosling, as many of us know, has built satellite data acquisition
systems, a multiprocessor version of Unix®, several compilers, mail
systems and window managers. He has also built a WYSIWYG text editor,
a constraint based drawing editor and a text editor called 'Emacs' for
Unix® systems.
Plus, Robert Brewin, Distinguished Engineer and Chief Technology
Officer, Software
Sun Microsystems, Inc. will be addressing the conference. Some of his
key areas of responsibility include Sun's expanding role in the
development of Web 2.0 technologies, improving the developer
experience, and alignment and integration of our platforms,
technologies and tools.
Other speakers include: Jeff Jackson, Senior Vice President, Solaris
Engineering Group, Sun Microsystems, Inc. Jeff has a unique
perspective on the Java Platform, having been one of the originators
of J2EE project at Sun. He lead that effort from its inception through
delivery.
Jeet Kaul, Vice President of Developer Products and Programs; Aisling
MacRunnels, Vice President of Software Marketing; Ian Murdock, VP
Developer and Community Marketing and Karen Tegan-Padir, Vice
President, Enterprise Java Platforms are among the speakers as well.
Needless to say, at this conference attendees will have the golden
opportunity to get first-hand knowledge from expert speakers, network
and discuss solutions and technologies with their peers.
