I'm looking for a good C++ book. I already know C and I don't want it to
have anything to do with Windows programming.

Here's what I'm looking at right now:

http://www.acceleratedcpp.com/
http://mindview.net/Books/DownloadSites

Get 'em both. Thinking in C++ is especially good for those coming from C.
Accelerated is good for those with any programming experience. They have
different approaches - the former is "here's how you'd have to do it in C,
now here's the C++ way", the latter is "we're going straight for the
productive stuff, and you can learn how and why it works later".
