Can someone recommend a C++ windows compiler other than microsoft visual
studio?

all I really need is a command line capability.

Thanks in advance.

There's something wrong with the client software and/or server you're using.

Microsoft Visual Studio includes a command line C++ compiler.

But see
<url: http://home.no.net/dubjai/win32cpptut/html/w32cpptut_01_01_02.html>

which lists a number of free, currently popular C++ compilers.

I think, it is actively maintained.

I cannot say anything about the Standard compliance. They support
namespaces,
and RTTI I know.

I use the compiler many years for now and be happy, that it is free :)

Have a look at their site.
