Hello,
I am looking for Hungarians, who read this newsgroup and are interested in
the Standard C++ Programming Language. I am trying to help to organize a
group of Hungarians, who are expert enough to contribute to the C++
Standardization work. I have already found two people (beyond me, but I am
not in Hungary). The plan is that we collect a group and try to form an
official Hungarian committee inside the Hungarian Standardization
Organization. I am just trying to find people who are knowledgeable and
willing, the rest will be up to the group, like getting sponsoring etc. In
theory it is possible that we might have a representative of Hungary some
time at the ISO WG21 meetings.
So those who think they know the standard enough and are willing to spend
their time as experts in a group like that please email me, with some
introduction of themselves.
I am not sure if there will be anything from this, so this is not a promise
of any kind. I just recently found out that there are many more people in
Hungary than I thought, who know the Standard and some of them might even be
interested in participating in the huge work of C++ standardization. So I
decided to send a call out. Of course there should be a lot of work done to
get an official committee organized, and to get into the work of the "big"
committee, without hassle for them. Also we have to prove that we are worth
of it - which is one point where I feel I still have a lot to do myself.
So please mail me! There is a mailing list set up, but - if possible - I
would like to know a bit more about the people before they get onto it.
Paul - who posts frequently here - is already subscribed. Once we are in
contact I will send invitation to the mailing list to you. If you prefer
not to mail me, the mailing list is hunstdcpp on yahoogroups:
(e-mail address removed)
The list is not moderated, but it is invitation only, so you will not be
able to send messages until I accept your subscribing, which may some time.
I would prefer if only Hungarians living in Hungary would ask for
subscription and people who already participate in the ISO or ANSI groups,
voting members or not. I will give away the ownership of the list as soon
as we have a group and someone is ready to take over.
