Having a database may slow down your laptop's performance if it is a large database or if your laptop has limited resources. However, if you have a modern laptop with enough RAM and processing power and are working with a small database, the impact on performance will likely be minimal. To ensure efficient performance, it's important to optimize your database and queries. If you're concerned about the impact on performance, you can consider using cloud-based database services or running the database on a separate server.

Thank you for answering. I'm still kind of new in this and I'd just really like to understand how it works - is the database on my computer or is it on my webhosters webspace or idk. I'm really sorry for noobish acting I'm just trying to understand. Thanks

The database can be stored on your laptop or on a web hosting service. If it's stored on your laptop, it could slow down your computer's performance if it's a large database or if your laptop has limited resources.

Storing it on a remote server can be a good option if you want to access your data from anywhere, but you'll most likely have to pay.
