Can't stop build

Hello,
I'm new to C++ coding. I'm trying to use MSVC6 on winxp. I find that the
"stop build" doesn't work and i have to ctrl + alt + delete to get out of
the programme. Is there a solution or some thing obvious I've missed?

Yes, that seems to be a bug in VC6 and EVC on XP. My solution was to either
save often, and eventually I upgraded to VC++ 2003 with the free VC++
Toolkit 2003. You might want to try the latest SP; I think a newer one came
out after I switched...
