Can't submit form

R

Randy Vernon

I have a simple login screen (username, password, submit button). Works
perfect on 2 of my PC's. On 3rd, clicking "submit" button does nothing (the
submit button calls a method in my code-behind file to process the login). I
have used TRACE to verify that the code-behind method is not being called at
all. Others have tried and it works fine. Wondering if anyone has run across
this problem. Here is my PC's info:

WinXP Pro, SP 2
IE version: 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803_2158

Thanks,
Randy

Not entirely sure. I'm running Framework 1.1 +SP1 I think (I have all the
latest updates from Microsoft on this machine). The site was developed in MS
VS.NET 2003 (VB.NET)

FYI: I was able to solve the situation. I cleared out all of my temporary
cookies and files and the page ran fine. See if that works for you.

Still don't know the underlying reason for this happening though.

A colleague just sent me this:

Appears to be WebUIValidation.js file which would be pulled down to the
client on pages with validation. Therefore, if they had the old version and
the web site had the newest one from the patch it must have broke the
postbacks. Thus, having the client clear their cache (and cookies) could fix
it.

Hi Randy

Many thanks for the update.

Just reverted to 1.1 without the SP for the moment.

Cheers
