I don't know who maintains it, nor did I know that it hasn't been abandoned.

My server carries a few dozen of those. There is also just about
a dozen with "copyright" in its name... Doesn't your server allow
you to see the whole list of them?

The question is appropriate for this group, not a legal group because
chances are that someone here has worked with the code and maybe even B.
Stroustrup himself would chime in about the status of his earlier work at
AT&T.

You're wrong about that. Any tool, compiler, OS, or other
platform-specific entity is off-topic.
