Client Control in ASP.net

Hi,

I am having trouble loading a new user control onto an ASP.net web page. I have created the dll. This dll works fine on a Windows Forms Application but won't load on an asp page. I have added the dll to the same directory as my web project and the Intellisense for the object tag finds the dlll but it won't display in IE. Any ideas anyone?

I managed to resolve the problem myself. If you change the Validation setting in the Tool / Options / Validation to IE 6 it loads the control. Can anyone give me a deeper explanation of this problem. Is it simply that other browsers don't suppport what I am attempting?
