CMS

I'm looking for a complete CMS (Content Manager System) for updating web
pages.

I've a simple HTML site. I don't use templates yet, but would integrate them
at the same time. I don't need such portal CMS, the only features are:
1- add-remove menu in a menu tree
2- add-remove their respective pages.
3- format text, insert tables and images, links....
4- eventually with a news module

Any good reference ???

Also, in the background I would prefer PHP than ASP.

Cheers

Wouldn't it make more sense to ask this question on comp.lang.php or
some forum for Perl or ASP? Or go to Google and search for CMS. I know
there are sites out there that do reviews of the various CMS. You'll
want a script language that can change files, and I don't believe
Javascript can do that.

I was talking about client side script, the one allowing to change the text
attributes without knowing html... That's the main feature I've to provide.
Then PHP in background.

I've googled, find many CMS on the web...just hoping somebody could give an
experienced advice, such "avoid this or this one is great..." much better
than a site that test it and never use it on a real site.

I had a friend who was briefly a fan of this:

http://www.blueshoes.org/en/javascript/editor/

He put it up on the site of his Church. He thought the minister and
secretary would have an easy time with an interface that resembled
common word processors. For some reason the church staff never got into
using it. I'm not sure why. Maybe because even the best interface can't
hide the fact that the web is quite different from word processor
document.

I'm working on the same thing now myself, a PHP content management
system that uses Javascript to offer some common word processing
functions.
