Comparison of web technologies - MGI vs ASP.NET

I am a .NET developer but have a potential client that is using a hosting
company that developed their current pages using MGI. When that client
brought it to the company's attention that they were unhappy with it, they
gave them some software that will allow them to customize the site.

This is probably going to be very biased from everyone but what is your
opinion about the 2 in terms of ability, dynamic content, and dependability
or anything else for that matter? I will be checking out this customization
software this week to see what I think but dont want to make any rash
decisions.

I have already begun to re-develop their current site and have been able to
utilize data lists for dynamic product listing and server side session in
order to keep things private. What would you guys recommend in this
situation?

Thanks,
Cleako

There is a reason why ASP.NET is used far more widely
than MGI...

Plus...

You'll only be deploying the .aspx pages and subsequent
dlls. Your clients could just as easy be granted ftp
access to adjust the html in the .aspx pages or
you could provide a page that reads the text file
of the .aspx page and modify those you want them
to be able to change.

If you utilize UserControls, you could make this
even safer by only allowing them to edit these.
