Hi all,

If i design my own xilinx based FPGA board, what devices should i use for configuration. (only PROM is enough?). This question arises because, i don't does xilinx requires any EEPROM for configuration sequence control or is it being done by software tools from xilinx.

Check out the schematics for the demo kits and evaluation boards. That will give you an example of typical configuration circuits.

During development the ISE software can program the devices directly with a programming cable. When you go into production you can take the ISE output and program it into your (EE)PROM.
