Configure IIS6 to run asp.net

hi

asp.net 3.5

I have a website I'm trying to make run on my win2k3 machine. The win2k3
machine has a fresh reinstall of OS today, I downloaded and installed all
the patches etc to the computer. I didn't run any scripts to notify IIS that
asp.net 3.5 was installed....

the problem is that the website don't show in internet browser, I get this
error:
"The page cannot be found" when accessing a .aspx page.

The URL I use works when I access a .htm file on the same server, so URL is
correct...

Website has Read and Run Scripts permissions
IPAdresses = All Unassigned

any ideas what I did wrong here?

solved, after hours of troubleshooting I finally find the error:

under Web Service Extension, asp.net was prohibited, I changed to "allowed"
and then it started to work

You are not alone on this. I have spent *hours* trying to figure out what
was wrong with the setup when it ultimately was the Web Service Extension
deal you found.
