convert a variable of type TIME into a REAL?

Hi,
Any one got any idea how i might
convert a variable of type TIME into a REAL?

My test bench needs to do some maths depending on how
long some variable length pulses are.

Check out these packages (iopakb.vhd and iopaka.vhd) Compile these into your library and then look for the following functions: Default_Time() on line 8857 and from_string() on line 1699 in iopakb.vhd.

These packages are wonderful and will save you tons of time.
