Creating an Icon For my App

D

dave

I have Visual Basic 6.0 Pro edition and Visual C++ enterprise edition. Is
there a way to create an icon with either of these ?
Or is there any included software on the CD's for these to create icons ?

Visual C++: go to Insert | Resource | Icon

Also, in My Computer under Tools | Folder Options | File Types, locate the
ICO file type and set the "Opens with..." choice to VC++, so you can
double-click an icon and VC++ will pop-up.

Sorry for being helpful, I think I broke a newsgroup rule. <shhhhhh....>

There are no voted-for rules, but you're an anonymous idiot anyway.

That's off-topic in this group, but what the heck: if your question is
in good faith, then you're seriously lacking in certain respects, and if
it is not, then you're seriously lacking in certain other respects.

I have no idea of what you are trying to say or how to respond to it,
so I think I'll just drop the matter for now. Frankly, it is not worth
waste of my time.

That would have been all right except you chose to act in spite of your
lack of understanding.

Just keep that in mind next time you feel like delivering some heartfelt
inane comment.

You should not have wasted _my_ time.

What part of <shhhhhh....> didn't you understand. ;-)

You mustn't feed the TROL^h^h^h^hRegulars here. They are very touchy. They
are also soggy and hard to light, but that is the subject of another thread.

Always remember VC++ is never a topic in C++. There's no V in C++! ;-)

At one point in its history this group was drowning in a flood of Windows
related questions which were getting asked and answered. Had this continued
it would have left no unmoderated group for people who are interested in C++
but not particularly interested in Windows. There are plenty of Windows
related groups, but only one unmoderated C++ language group. That is why
this group is stricter than most.

The following is parody - not Mabden's actual opinion. I can completely
understand keeping the goal of a news group to its specific purpose. I am
not a Microsoft zealot. Sorry for what is below. Regulars may want to avoid
reading the following. You have been warned.

OMG! ...not That!
Had this continued...

I'm glad y'all stopped the answering of questions! It turns out that answers
only lead to more questions! Stop it up front, preferably with a big stick,
and you don't get more o' them pesky questions!

Stricter? As in Restricted...?

Then I guess it's lucky for y'all that MS has created C#. 95% of all MS
computer developers will move over there, and Windows topics WILL be on
topic.

<as it sinks in> Eeeeewwwwww....

Yeah, how dare you try to be helpful just for the sake of being helpful. We
should all research all we can about any possible
rules before we do such an outrageous thing !
Thank you so much for having the nerve to be helpful !!!!

But next time you'll post to a more relevant group where people will be more
knowledgeable and more willing to help, right?
