Displaying applet in Dreamweaver

Is there a way to display an actual Java applet within Dreamweaver
CS4? One could do this even back in the days of Microsoft FrontPage.
I've tried using Dreamweaver's Live View mode, but all I've been able
to do is get the coffee cup placeholder or use the preview in a
browser option to launch a browser.

I'm not having any problem adding a Java applet to a web page, either
by writing the code manually or using the applet properties as
detailed on the Adobe site (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Dreamweaver/
10.0_Using/WSc78c5058ca073340dcda9110b1f693f21-7c81a.html). The
problem is just displaying the applet within Dreamweaver.

Is there a way to do this, or is Dreamweaver just a step back from the
capabilities of FrontPage when it comes to Java applets?

Some tools on some platforms must be told where to find a suitable Java
Runtime Environment (JRE). Does Dreamweaver on your platform have or
require such a setting?

I haven't been able to find such a setting, but Adobe's documentation
is most politely described as haphazard.
