The problem appears to only be with some UK ISPs (including mine).

I wonder if perhaps Peter is on ADSL like me? Perhaps some screw up
at BT?

Correct - ADSL. I get a DNS error but I get it really quickly :)
And, even more correct, I see your site on a modem dial-up.

Happens all the time with BT (and some others). A trace-route from the
client may help diagnose where the problem is, but the issue usually
evaporates after a few hours.
