DOS window empty in XP

Hi..
I want to use a dos program in Windows XP...but when i start the
program the dos window pops up completely 'black' nothing in
tere..... :-(
I tried the program on several other machines running XP and on them
the program works fine.
I copied Config.nt and Autoecex.nt from one off the working pc's to
mine , also copied em from the XP cd and manualy created 'new'
ones.....but that all did not help........
Also i copied command.exe from the XP CD......but nothing seems to
help.

Anybody out tere who can help me out ?
