Error with simple aspnet app

I created an asp.net web application through Visual Studio 2005. I then went
to run the app to see what I would get and received an error:

Server App Unavailable. The web app you are attempting to access on this
web server is currently unavailable. Hit the refresh...

IIS is running and the app shows up as an alias website in the IIS
management window. I setup anonymous access and I entered
IUSR_MYMACHINENAME as a user. I'm not sure what else I need to do.

Thanks for any help in clarifying this issue for me.
