Usenet needs a Slashdot style modifier. That would get a +5 Funny with
no problem.

What exactly would?

Until people learn to quote, just ignore them. If you make the effort to
figure out what they're talking about it just encourages them to continue
(ed and erik, for example).

I think you are correct, at least in this group... I was hoping to
gently persuade people that people would be rather confused as to
what they were talking about unless they did quote context.

4 ur help.

Don't forget, Rajkumar... it's a common courtesy to write back and tell
us what grade you got on your homework with the help of Bernard's
timely and expert assistance. We want to hear what your teacher thinks
also. This is common courtesy - If you do not provide such feedback,
folks like Bernard may not be so nice to give you such good help in the
future.

Well OK Matt, thanks for the lesson. I was replying via google groups
and using it for the first time so forgive the slip eh? Do you treat
everyone with the same suspicion for the first time?

Please leave full attribution for whatever you quote. I quite certain what
follows was not all written by you.

There are posting guidelines for this group (and most active groups) for a
reason: people are tired of having to constantly tell those whose "first
time" (excuse) it is to follow simple usenet protocol. If you find this
overly-burdensome you're free to go elsewhere. Considering the recent
proliferation of google posters who don't think there's any reason for them
to follow any guidelines, consider yourself lucky you got any response.
