Frame help

Hi everyone,

I have just registered a domain for myself
(http://www.londons-burning.co.uk), which is working as a sub-domain for my
web site.

My web site is hosted at http://members.lycos.co.uk/blackwallfirestation and
ever since a couple of months ago, Lycos have decided to place an advert
banner to the right of all pages.

My site is viewable in frames, with the navigation bar to the left (bar.htm)
and the main page in the centre (home.htm) and the file for the page as a
whole is (index.html).

The problem now with having my domain pointing to my site is that, once the
page had properly loaded, it refreshes then either the bar.htm or home.htm
file displays on it's own with Lycos' advert to the side. Also when the
domain first loads, the advert is hidden.

Does anyone know how I can stop the refresh and is there any code I can
place on the page to stop it?

Thanks in advance!

If you try to remove the adverts, you'll probably be in violation of their
TOS. What you need to do is get real hosting, without adverts, etc.

I am having a similar problem where the banner appears in all three frames
taking up valuable space. I think one has to make a web page with borders
rather than frames though I am unable to remember how to do it. Does anyone
have any suggestions??

You could try www.freewebs.com
They dont have popups or banners and they give you 100megs space. Bandwidth
is a rather small 500megs, but you could host Images at somewhere like
Photobucket
