Does this mean php is available? -Good. What version?
phpversion = 5.2.5

I used it, the only little negative point is that sometimes, you
receive the following:

To save server resources and provide everyone with free web hosting we
regularly remove inactive accounts. Account considered inactive if no
website is uploaded or it did not received more than 10 visitors in 30
days.

But, you have the possibility by a link to suspend the removal delay
period.

Sounds pretty good as long as they count updates to a site as activity in
the 30 day period. I'd sure be mad, though, if I went on vacation and
returned to find my site gone because of nonsense.

Me too, I better look at this business as I have pages there for some ng
activity. Now where is that removal delay button...?

I had one set up there for the news groups for a while, but it was
removed for being inactive it appears. Not sure how they determine if
its inactive.

There was option to reactivate the account but it failed to work
returning an error. There was an option to create another under my
registration, but I did not want to use it.

With that being said, it was likely my fault, they had a lot of stuff
that could be done with htaccess that is usually not allowed. I took
advantage of it and used it, and I suspect that I may have removed
their ability to track hits.

Another issue was that tinyurl would not allow links to that site
because of complaints of spam and such, had to use snurl.

Opera did not complain about going to the site unless it returned a 404
which would trigger a Fraud Protection alert.

As i said before they start the de-activation period due to your
website did not received more than 10 visitors in 30 days.

The reactivation works pretty well, you received a mail explaining
that your site will be removed after 7 days.
""
But, if you would like to continue using this account you can protect
it against termination by visiting members area:
http://members.000webhost.com/
""

You just have to go to and login to the "members" site ...there you
find buttons to re-activate. I have done it 2 times sucessfully
without any hassle.

Now, i visit my website every two-days period.
Did you go 37 days on vacation ? ... i will tell your boss that you
may not do that :)

We have been through this before. Is there something wrong with these
conditions and offers by the company concerned?

Did not know this.

mmm... I better be careful to keep backups up to date in case there are
things I would not want to lose right now.

I have sent them a message about the issue and will hopefully hear from
them about the best ways of guarding against it. Perhaps there is a way
to program one's computer to access one's domain on a weekly or monthly
schedule. Applescript... ? Might look into it.

No, there's nothing wrong with the hosting company, as far as I can
tell. It's the affiliates spamming newsgroups, looking for that $5. The
TOS, which I quoted, says they shouldn't be doing that.

Tell your friends via personal email or word of mouth, but don't spam
the world.

It did indeed have a reset button, which was of little use since it
just returned an error.

I do not think I had many hits from the real world on that site, a few
post with snurl redirects in newsgroups.

With that said, it does not take long to log a 100 hits just checking
different browsers on different systems.

What kind of error ? May be a protection option of your browser ...

No, I don't approve of that wording or the practice behind it.

I have been using this subdomain quite a lot actually, if you look under
/alt/ there should be a whole mob of my ravings...
