Good C++ course

L

Larry

I am a programmer who has worked in several other languages except this
one
and would find that given my busy schedule a course would help me focus my
time on this a bit better.

Are their any schools/organizations/user groups that give top notch C++
courses in New York City?

Thanks

I don't know of any, but also note:

This is an international newsgroup, so imo your chances
of finding a significant sampling of opinions from those
familiar with the NYC area in this group are small.

However, I'd like to recommend an excellent text, which is
specifically aimed at getting the practicing professional
programmer quickly 'up to speed' writing useful code with
C++:

http://www.acceleratedcpp.com/

I consider myself an example of its target audience,
and I am very satisfied with my selection and purchase
of it.

Also don't forget the large amount of useful information
available in the "C++ FAQ":
http://www.parashift.com/c++-faq-lite/

and the resources cited the the 'alt.comp.lang.learn.c-c++' FAQ:
http://www.contrib.andrew.cmu.edu/~ajo/faqs/acllc-c++.html

Good luck!

HTH,
-Mike
