Open an account at www.perlmonks.org .

You can't expect people there to do your work for you, but they are
typically patient with those who are able to demonstrate that they're
putting forth the effort to actually learn. Nice people, most of them.
Short fused, some. But a great online learning community.

There is the (e-mail address removed) mailinglist that you might want to get
subscribed to (see http://learn.perl.org for details).

If you're feeling intimidated by the posters here, you could try posting on
alt.perl. But for the best advice and constructive criticism you're better
off posting here. Just make sure you read the docs/faqs and have a good
stab at the problem you're facing before posting.

<to OP>
No has an issue with posting a question - so long as an attempt is made to
solve the problem first. To just blindly post a "How do I ..." request
*will* get you a few responses that will appear to be flames :)

And .... a more useful subject will help :)

Yes ... yes they are! :)
