Help on Programming a Video Game

Hello, people of the internet. I joined this forum to be able to ask questions about problems I may have. But I do have one question. I'm trying to start out on programming a video game. I would say I'm intermediate at programming. I know Java, C++, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Python. Should I use SDL or OpenGL? Any other alternatives? Responding would be much appreciated.
