How to configure my PC into a server?

Hi, there:

I am using a ST570 ADSL modem with router and wireless LAN.
I can only see my own 10.0.0.1 from the internet explorer and Apache's
index.html now.

Is it possible to configure my PC into a webpage server with Apache?

first, i should let ya know that you are posting in the wrong newsgroup *
i won't mind, but the people here not really like it)

so, if you already set up your PC with Apache, be able to browse it using
127.0.0.1 then congratulation.

now, since you are in LAN, try using another PC in ur lan to view your IP
address maybe) 10.0.0.1 and if you are able to view it, then
congratulation

webpage server == web server
and you just set your PC as web server.

if you want *everybody around the world to view your page, then maybe you
got to configure your router to your PC which installed with Apache.

You need to tell Apache to serve pages on port 80 and then setup the router to direct all port 80
traffic to a specific port on the relevant machine by it's internal IP (should still be port 80 but
could be port 8080 or whatever you tell Apache to serve from).
Alternatively you might have an 'Open Ports' setup where you just say that all port 80 traffic goes
to a specific machine (internal IP address again).

.... and ... it is the wrong forum. Find the 'NAT' section in your router manuals.

10.0.0.1 is the IP address of your modem, as part of your network. It's not
an Internet address that anyone else can use. You need an IP address from
your web host, if they provide static IP addresses, and if they permit you
to run a server. (Most don't.)
