How to get word coordinates from the image

Is there any tool/commands to get the word coordinates of an image/
pdf. I know ABBYY does that but if you can suggest other then ABBYY it
would be very helpful.

What are "word coordinates of an image/pdf" ?

Who is ABBYY? Is it her image?

Is this Javascript related?
