How to make horizontal menu using .js?

How to make horizontal menu using .js and .css files. I only need 5
links. I am new to this and have tried everything I can but was not
able to do this.

Can someone please write two separate codes (css for style and .js for
links) for me and post them here? (I don't need it with css file, but
forgive my ignorance, I think this is the only way it is possible. All
I need is a .js file which can display 5 or more links horizontally on
a web page. I want to use java because it is going to be on at least
50 pages and if I am going to make changes I want to get them done on
one page).
