I take it you want to display this in the browser?

You are much better off using JavaScript, which runs on the client,rather
than .net which runs on the server.

Yes, but unless you use something like AJAX, it'll have to post back every
time it updates.

Much better would be to use a simple client-side JavaScript function to do
this....

Elaborate what you mean. Is that loading into the browser on client side? Or
on the server before the page gets to the client?
