Hi!
We are printing Postscript documents through the Java Printing Service
classes, which usually works fine. But now our customer is reporting
erratic printer behaviour.
Their HP LaserJet 4200 (on a Windows server, with most recent PS driver)
fails with a "Printer is not accepting job" PrintException when it is
out of paper. At the same time, however, other applications have no
problem queuing their jobs as the Windows spooler is still happily
accepting them; only our Java application refuses to spool when the
printer itself is temporarily blocked.
The same exception apparently used to occur occasionally when the
printer itself was ready, but the latest driver update mostly fixed
that, according to our client. However, when the spooler is ready and
the printer is blocked, Java still fails to queue our printing job.
Any hints & solutions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Marian.
