IDE - new to Asp

Amir

Hi there
I'm a linux person who programs in Perl/PHP but because of company demand, I
had to develop a site in ASP, and migrate our Redhat 7 server which I had
setup to IIS (oh boy was that a headache?!)

I used Dreamweaver VBScript capability and managed the site and now for the
next project, I want to know what's the best IDE for ASP VBScript in your
opinion (I already used AceHTML)

your comments are much appreciated

thanks

most everyone in here is going to tell you to use a nice color coded text
editor or just use notepad.. me included

people that use WYSIWYG editors for ASP code tend to depend on them and end
up with weak/limited code

the trick is to use a wysiwyg editor for tedius stuff like managing a site
and creating complex tables.. etc etc
then being able to dig into the ASP code on your own

Though not completely related you might want to read this article... the
part about various editors

Hmmmm... Does your boss know ASP is *dead*? If he wants to switch to
windows, he should always choose ASP.NET instead.

DreamWeaver can do fine, plus you're already familiar with it. Primal
Script is my choice for best, or Visual Studio, but there are plenty
of lower cost editors available that you should at least try.

Thanks all

I ended up liking PrimalScript after trying it

it's alot like ActiveState Komodo which I'm used to for developing Perl/PHP
