IE Modal Dialog & window status

I have a Modal Dialog in IE which i'm trying to set a status bar
message for. The dialog has the status bar displayed ok, but any
attempt to set a message for the status bar doesn't do anything.

Is this just another one of those stupid things you're not allowed to
do in a dialog window (like changing the dialog caption)? or am i
missing something??

Cheers!
Ade.

Yes, with SP2 on XP. The same for hiding the status bar.

But this is Win2K... and it's not even on the internet, it's running in
a secure intranet environment and i'm still not allowed to edit basic
properties of a dialog window. Security is all well and good but all i
want to do is put a status message in the status bar... is that too
much to ask?

Use something like http://www.meadroid.com/zeepe/ if you're in a
secure environment.

Jim.
