IIS 5 will not pass emails or SSL

Has anyone had or heard of IIS not passing emails or SSL connections,
thereby disconnecting or making the server useless?

I had a virus that seems to have done this.

Any help or suggestions apreciated.

not sure I follow... what do you mean by "not passing"? Is there an error?
Did you install a fix/patch for this virus that might have blocked ports?

OK, more details, not too many to give but,

Error code is 1209 I believe, when connecting to HotMail or Yahoo mail I
can not login!? Instead I bounce to the login page again.
I have reinstalled so many times I've gone slightly looney.
SSL also gives a 0 response as to say this connection failed.
I've Installing WinXP or server 2003 and this clears this hurdle but I
need the ASP to work properly not the crippleware server 2003 has given
me for ASP and the "new" interface is very anoying.

So I need server 2000 to work.
