We are running a IIS/COM+/VB application (with all VB
objects marked as Retained in memory) on a dual-processor
box using NT/Challenge-Response authentication set on the
virtual directory. Everyday, IIS/ASP hangs immediately
following the SceCli (eventid 1704) "Group policy objects
are applied successfully" event.
We can access non-static content from the site like JPG's
and HTML pages, but anything rendered with a .ASP
extension never responds. Rebooting the server, or running
IISreset is the only way to get the server up and running
again.
I have seen several people complaining about the same type
of problem in Newsgroups but no response (or solution or
acknowledgement) from Microsoft staff about this. See:
http://groups.google.com/groups?q=scecli+iis+1704&ie=UTF-
8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&btnG=Google+Search
Using the KB article (277543 - How to Delay Security
Policies from Being Applied, http://support.microsoft.com/?
kbid=277543) I am able to delay the security policy
application to mask the problem (it crashes every 7 days,
instead of everyday), but am also leaving the system open
to delayed security policy updates.
Can someone please shed some light on it and provide with
a solution or workaround.
Thanks
