How does one go about creating a GIF or JPEG from scratch? I want to
freehand draw a flower in a particular shape. I have PSP and Corel (not
very good with either). I managed to draw the required shape in Corel
Photo Paint and Draw but didn't know how to save it and in what format.
The flower is to be a company logo, overlaid with text.
Thanks
Jmac

PS. recently read that png is a better format. All help gratefully recieved

Well, if you wanted the finished file as a GIF or a JPEG wouldn't it be
worth saving it as a GIF or a JPEG? Either way, you wouldn't be doing
it with HTML.

Hand draw what you want on paper then scan it or photograph it.
Unless you have a mouse sensitive enough for artistry work, you'll never get
it just right.
for saving on screen work, the simple method is to "print screen".
Paste into a new image, I use irfanview, and save in desired format.
But I do not believe that either corel or psp would not have a method of
direct saving, even as a BMP.
Check the menu items.

Corel Photo Paint is raster, so should be able to save Gig, Jpeg, Bmp, etc.
Corel Draw is vector, but IIRC, has the ability to export to raster.

PSP is Paint Shop Pro and you can save to many different formats, too.
It's "raster" as well.

With Corel Draw, if you want to save in a bitmap format, you need to
choose "export" instead of "save as" (at least in my version, but I
have an lder one-- Corel Draw 8)

You might get some better help in a ng more dedicated to your topic: I
see from google there is alt .corel .graphics which looks busy
enough.

A Free site, Image Magick, can do it if you learn to use the tools
there... find the link here along with some other image sites:
