Issues like security, reliability. I need information about them and
possibly information about other issues.

Hi MJM,

This is such a broad question. Like any application at all, there will
always be issues related to security, reliability, manageability,
performance, scalability, you name it. It is up to the designer to
understand their requirements, the implementation technology choice they
make, and have a degree of expertise in making the appropriate trade-offs.

To get you started, you might want to start reading about web service
basics. A good book that covers a lot of ground is Writing Web Services in
Visual Basic. One of the authors is Scott Seeley. You should be able to
find this on Amazon.
