Instiki file uploads

I'm not sure where to ask this, but this looks like as good a place as
any. I've been searching around about how to upload files into an
Instiki wiki. Reading past messages (starting from about a year ago) I
got the impression that someone had worked on it at some point and it
hasn't been quite been up to snuff to add it into the production
release. Where would one find such code. I would be happy to mess with
it. If not are there any instruction or tips on where to start messing
with the code.

I'm wanting to set up a wiki for a small group and sound bytes and
images are critical for this. Out of all the wiki's I've been messing
with Instiki seems really slick and easy to use to me.

Ok, thanks for the help.

It's there in the Subversion repository (svn checkout
http://svn.instiki.org/instiki/trunk instiki), but currently disabled.
If you are willing to just wait for a couple of weeks, I may be able to
release it. Note: *may* is the important keyword here.

If it's disabled how do I go in and enable it? (thanks for the quick
response)
Hi,

I don't remember myself, and I don't have time right now to figure it
out. Sorry.
But it was all written up in the wiki, and once it is back you'll find
it there. Please just wait for a few days.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check it out when your wiki comes back up.
I've been looking through the code and have found a couple of things
that help me though:

* In ./app/views/admin/edit_web.rhtml there is a section starting line
49 that is commented out that makes a check box in the adminstration
page for enabling file uploads and limiting their size. Once this is
enabled however I couldn't figure out how to navigate to an upload
page. Going to http://<server>/file seemed to get me close, but again I
couldn't get rid of the notice that said that file uploads were
disabled.

* It is possible to just put images and other files under the public
directory. This actually works pretty well for what I want to do for
now. In the future file upload will be nice to have though. (it's
easier in general for most people.)

So perhaps it would be nice to publicize a little better this work
around. (maybe it's on your wiki, but it's not been up since I've been
messing with instiki)

I do have one question though. What has been the problem with file
uploads? security? storage? I'm just curious.

Anyways, nice job.

Oh, yes - most certainly it is on our wiki.

It was a dud. Not as obvious as the rest of the wiki (as you found out
yourself). I wanted to do something similar to (in other words,
shamelessly rip from) file uploads in Backpack - with Ajax etc.
