I have a Web appliction which it mixed with ASPX AND ASP page.

On visual studio 2003 it runs OK.

On visual studio 2005, when it try to execute ASP page,It displays the error:

<---
This type of page is not served.
Description: The type of page you have requested is not served because it
has been explicitly forbidden. The extension '.asp' may be incorrect. Please
review the URL below and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Is VS -2005 doesn't respects ASP ?

This sounds like the error you get on an IIS6 box when you've not enables
the ISAPI extension for .asp files. Open the IIS Admin tool and go to your
local computer then check out the "Web Service Extensions" and make sure
"Active Server Pages" are allowed.

Thanks, but the problem is not on the IIS Level.

the classic ASP pages are displayed on the same IIS using VS-2003

Same application ?

Strange as the message is a server side message. Try with IE or any browser.
If you have the same problem it should be definitively a server side
problem...

Also for VS 2005 does it use its internal web server ? I'ts likyl this one
doesn't server ASP content...

Ok, well in that case your project must be a filesystem project. When you
debug then you're not running in IIS and instead you're running in VS.NET's
standalone webserver. It's telling you that it doesn't support ASP pages.
You should switch over to an IIS project then.

Thanks, but how switching to IIS project in VS 2005?
It seems that the only option is "standalone webserver"...

Well, one easy way to do that is to create a new website in VS.NET and choose
"http" project and create it at http://localhost/YourNewAppName and this
will setup a new virtual directory in your local IIS. You would then just
copy over your project files into the new directory on the filesystem (which
is probabaly somehwhere under \inetpub\wwwroot\YourNewAppName).
