The next meeting of the XML Users Group will be held on Wednesday,
January 21, 2004 at the American Geophysical Union (AGU) at 2000
Florida Avenue, N.W., Washington, DC 20009-1277. The meeting starts
at 7:00 p.m. and usually last approximately 2 hours. If attending
the meeting by Metro, get off the Dupont Circle stop and walk
north to Florida Avenue...turn right.
There is no cost associated with attending but if you are planning on

The presenters will discuss how to integrate XML and
traditional non-XML data sources for use in

simplifies the development and deployment of
Web-enabled applications. The high performance
TigerLogic XDMS XML data management
capabilities are exposed to developers through XML
standards and popular connectivity options.
TigerLogic XDMS supports XML standards such as
DTD, XML Schema, and XPath. TigerLogic XDMS
also supports Java, HTTP, SOAP, and J2EE
Connector Architecture for connectivity. The support
of these open st andards and connectivity options
lowers the learning curve for developers and enables
TigerLogic XDMS to boost productivity by
seamlessly integrating with existing enterprise
application environments and minimizing administrative
overhead.

XML W3C Schema Basics - Part I: This is Part I of a 2 part
presentation. This presentation will discuss content models:
empty, simple, complex, mixed. Basic data types and their
facets. Extension, restriction, list, union, patterns for
simple data types. Creation of complex data types, element
groups and attribute groups (Part II will be on XML W3C
Design and will get into schema design issues.
However, Part II will be presented on another date after
the Part I presentation.)
Currently we need speakers for both the technical and vendor
presentation portion of future meetings. If you would like
to give a presentation at a future meeting, please send e-mail

with others.
