JAVA APPLICATIONS TECHNOLOGIST

LOCATION: North Dallas
SALARY: Pay commensurate with experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the company Call Center
ordering software.
* Will take direction from project leads & assist in functional &
technical design and coding & testing efforts.
* Provide accurate time estimates & complete assigned tasks in a
timely manner.
* Use Java language and Shell Script programming to complete
development tasks.
* Investigate reported software issues and write code as necessary to
implement solutions.
* Will communicate with internal customers.
* Work closely and communicate with other team members in an agile
development environment.
* Create technical designs to implement functional and business
requirements.
* Write technical specs and document fixes and enhancements.
* Infrequent travel
REQUIRED
* 4+ years experience in Java programming
3+ years experience with Web Frameworks - Struts, Spring Framework
Experience with ORM solutions such as hibernate
* Experience with XML parsers, namespaces, and generation
* Experience with Unit testing
* Experience setting up and maintaining application servers - Tomcat /
JBoss
* Shell script programming (experience w/ Perl a plus!)
* Knowledge & experience in all phases of systems development life
cycle & in all tiers of web application.
* Strong analytical skills and be willing and able to learn new
technologies.
* Must have excellent communication skills
* Ability to coordinate multiple assignments and operate under
deadlines
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or 4-10 years programming
experience
