There is a job opening in Grand Rapids, Michigan for a full-time entry-level to intermediate
programming position at Market Technologies Inc. (MTI). MTI is a custom software provider which
enhances the processes of other businesses and of itself.

Expectations and requirements for the job are:
Languages:
- Minimum 2 years experience with Java (required)
- understanding and ability to apply design patterns
- Experience with ruby (required)
- Experience with python or perl (bonus)
- Minimum 1 year experience with HTML/DHTML/JavaScript (required)
- basic understanding of SQL (required)

Frameworks:
- knowledge and understanding of ruby on rails (bonus)

Concepts:
- knowledge and understanding of networking concepts; tcp/ip, udp, sockets, http, dns, etc
(required)
- knowldege and ability to apply design patterns and DRY techniques (required)

Operating Systems:
- ability to fluently work on windows 2000/xp and on linux (debian, ubuntu/kubuntu,etc.) (required)

Version Control:
- knowledge and understanding of CVS or SVN (required)

As usual the job requires the individual to be able to work productively in a team environment as
well as independently. The job will require the individual to be able to work locally from the
office in Grand Rapids, MI.
