Learning ASP.NET

H

Harag

Hi all.

I'm thinking about learning ASP.NET.

I currently have:

Windows 2000 Pro
Dreamweaver MX 2004
IE 6
NS 7
TextPad. 4.5

I currently code in ASP-Jscrip, server side/ MSSQL

What do I need to beable to learn ASP.NET? What software, what Version
of windows etc.

any good URLs to learn sites that I can use to learn?

what books are recommended?

Thanks for any help.

Harag.

I'm thinking about learning ASP.NET.

First lesson: The newsgroups labeled .asp.* are for Classic ASP, not
..NET. The groups you want are labeled .net.*

You could install the .NET Framework SDK on Windows 2000, you can
download it from
http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/downloads/updates/default.aspx
Then goto
http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/
and use the getting started, tutorial, documentation, code sample links.
If you are only interested in ASP.NET then check
http://www.asp.net/download-1.1.aspx?tabindex=0&tabid=1
and other pages on ASP.NET.

Further questions should then go to one of the (ASP).NET groups.

Cheers Jeff,

I've found a ms.public.dotnet.general group, I've posted there. Just
downloading loads of messages into my offline browser (free agent)

thanks again.
