migrating to vs 2003

I have a group currently using vs.net 2002 for development. We are looking
to migrate to vs2003. I know that when you try to open a 2002 project in
2003 it converts it over to a new format. My question is whether or not
there are any additional requirements or steps I need to do to the
production server to make it compatible with the 2003 projects. It is
currently Win2k and version 1.0.3 of the framework.

A related question is that we are going to be upgraded to Windows Server
2003 and was wondering if there are any compatibility issues that are likely
to arise when moving from one environment to the other.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You do have to install the newer Framework on the server. If you have 1.0
apps out that fail, you will have to run aspnet_regiis on those virtual
directories to ensure they run under 1.0.

The projects will switch to 1.1 when you open them, so ensure they are ready
for the switch. In general, only XML is a problem, especially with
transforms. There are a few other breaking changes, but I find XML to be the
real kicker for most people.
